Why Are We Like This Weekend Event in London!

We are the co-authors of the soon-to-be-released book, Why Are We Like This? Stories of Transformation. We invite you to join us for the Why Are We Like This? Weekend, beginning the evening of Friday, November 7th, through Sunday, November 9th, in London. This exciting book launch event will offer a rare opportunity for you to connect with Heartstopper® fans from around the world as you visit your favourite Hearstopper® scene locations. You can choose to attend one event or all of them if you wish.

This is a limited-capacity event. First come, first served, so buy your tickets now.

We are offering a beautiful, limited, special edition hardcover book. It features holographic foil embossing, rainbow-colored endpapers, and matching rainbow-sprayed edges. You will be able to pick up your order at the book launch/guest panel event on Saturday evening, November 8th. You can order the book in advance by clicking on the PAY HERE button below. We only have a limited number of books, so if you submit your order now you will be guaranteed a copy. We are offering it at a special discounted price of £20 only for this occasion. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Rainbow Railroad, a global not-for-profit organization that helps at-risk LGBTQI+ people get to safety worldwide.

Friday night, November 7th

Intro dinner 5-6:30 PM 

Pricing and location to be determined, and depending in part on the number of participants due to space requirements. The restaurant will be located in proximity to the Trafalgar Theatre, where Joe Locke is starring in Clarkston. Afterwards, we will walk together from the restaurant to the theatre.

Saturday November 8th

Grand Tour of Heartstopper® filming locations 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM (by private coach)

Price £60

The tour will begin near King's Cross Station, London

• EVERYMAN Cinema (Tao’s date with Elle)
• Bowling Alley
• Nick’s House and "I love you" lamp post
• Truham Grammar School for Boys
• Charlie’s bus stop
• Park (Nick’s bench with Imogen and gnarled fallen tree)
• Charlie’s House
• Riverside Walk (post ice cream scene)
• Higgs Girls School
• Harry’s party mansion (indoor tour)

The tour will end at the location of the book launch/guest panel event in Central London (exact location to be determined). For those of you with time constraints, you may depart the tour at Riverside Walk in Windsor at approximately 3:00 PM. It is a 5-minute walk to the train station back to London. The tour will stop for an early lunch at a restaurant of your choice in the vicinity of the bowling alley. We will be disembarking the bus at each location except EVERYMAN Cinema and Higgs Girls School. This tour will involve some walking.

Book launch/guest panel discussion 6:30 to 7:45 PM (location in Central London to be determined)

Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the book with the authors, as well as discuss Heartstopper® with special guest panelists:

• Ashley Hullett, renowned podcaster and Heartstopper® expert. Ashley is the Producer and Host of Why Are We Like This: A Heartstopper® Podcast, an in-depth analysis podcast focusing on Heartstopper® and the overall Osemanverse

• Courtney-Jai Niner, very well-known YouTube influencer and Heartstopper® reviewer. You will remember Courtney-Jai from his cameo in Heartstopper, when Nick was watching his YouTube video talking about bisexuality (S1 E6).

Sunday, November 9th.

Tour to Herne Bay Beach Heartstopper® filming locations 11AM  to 4:30 PM (by private coach)

Price £50

• Beach scene (S1 E8)
• Pier and carousel
• Truham School for Boys (site of secondary exterior and some interior scenes)

Important Information:

A registration fee of £29 (per person) will be required to cover production costs and administrative expenses. This fee will apply whether you attend one or more events. The Friday intro dinner, Saturday tour, and Sunday tour are open only to registered attendees. The book launch/guest panel discussion event on Saturday evening will be open to the public at no cost.

Payment Terms: We will accept Visa and Mastercard only. Payment will be required in full. All sales are final. No refunds.
